I got this group up to discuss all things Lakes with anyone interested. I have
one flyable and one project. The flyable one is a homebuilt and 175hp
Ranger powered, currently being recovered and painted, and the project will
be...? I wouldn't mind having a Cirrus for the project and building it up to
resemble Charlie Meyers' Lakes in the 1930 American Cirrus Derby. He
came in third behind Lee Gelbach in the Command-aire "Little Rocket" and
Lowell Bayles in the Gee Bee X. Anybody have a Cirrus tucked away
someplace? Anyway,I'll be uploading everything I have on the Lakes soon,
pictures, hopefully I can get my manuals scanned in, perhaps some footage if
I can get somebody to film the first flight of my Lakes after the new fabric is
finished.
